Big Brothers Big Sisters has a school based mentoring program called Students and Mentors Achieving Results Together (SMART).  The SMART Program matches high school volunteer mentors with second and third grade students who are struggling in school academically and socially.  Matches meet weekly as an after-school group in a “supervised” setting to assist students with academic and socialization skills.  Since its beginning in 1997 with 10 matches, SMART has experienced tremendous growth.  Now 18 programs serve schools throughout York and Adams Counties.  SMART is touching the lives of hundreds of young students each year.

Fortunately, our reputation precedes us.  Unfortunately, we do not have the financial resources to keep up with the demand.  Right now, we have schools waiting to implement the SMART Program but we do not have the funds to make it happen.
 
Your corporation has the opportunity to make a big difference…one child at a time.  As a SMART Partner you can choose which school district your partnership will benefit.  At the end of each school year you will receive a summary showing how each student improved due to your generosity and partnership in the program.  You and your colleagues will be invited to see first hand how the program works and how the students interface with their mentors.  Here is the opportunity for you to be part of the magic.
